This template is used for abbreviations used in the Monier-Williams' Sanskrit dictionary. It accepts the abbreviation without the final dot as a first positional parameter, and links to its entry inside the [[Appendix:Sanskrit abbreviations]] article, which contains further information (epxanded IAST form of the abbreviation, link to Wikipedia article on the topic etc.).
